About us
The Department has also established itself as an innovator in including topical subjects in the curriculum. The inclusion of Customer Relationship Management in the syllabus of both the marketing and retail streams is an example, as for a time it was the only department at BCom level who had this. The Department was also the first to offer a BCom specialisation in Retail at tertiary level in South Africa. The senior staff at the Department has established their credentials in both academic and private sector areas, as they are the key speaker and presenters for many of the conferences and courses offered for non-formal executive education. The Department is in fact the largest department in the fields of marketing and retail in Southern Africa. Vision To offer programmes within the fields of marketing and retailing that foster life-long student learning, specifically highlighting intellectual curiosity, leadership, ethical behaviour and global awareness and that also incorporate and encourage both academic research and experiential learning. Further mission goals are to provide quality programme content, knowledge and develop problem-solving, decision making and communication skills, while at the same time keeping overall vision and mission of the Unisa in mind. |
